DESCRIPTION:Crawlspaces can be both a cost saver during construction and sometimes a necessity due to site conditions\, but if done poorly or not designed and constructed with sustainability in mind\, it can cost much more in the long run. In this webinar\, we will take a look at design and construction of crawlspaces. Starting with the design and looking through the compliance paths listed in Section 408 of the 2015 IRC\, we will compile a list of items necessary for the design and construction of a durable crawlspace. We will also take a look at some simulated examples of a poorly designed crawlspace and reveal the potential risks of non-compliance. Going one step further\, we will look at some above code options to the design and construction of a crawlspace.
